Who is Douglas James?

Reddit and Quora pages can attest to the hype that is in the name of Douglas James in the field of marketing. He is popularly known as the ā€œHigh Ticket Client Guyā€ due to his marvellous adventures in the field of digital marketing.

Before he became a world-renowned marketing professional, he worked as a Navy Corpsman and was even deployed on the USNS Mercy. Part of his duty consisted of asssisting health care professionals in providing medical care to impoverished communities in countries like the Philippines, Fiji, and Guam.

According to Douglas, the humanitarian missions from the Navy opened his eyes to the idea of using his life to elevate people and guide them towards success. Due to that, he entered the field of entrepreneurship by enrolling in The George Washington University-School of Business.

Based onĀ one of his interviews, he shared that his main reason for offering digital marketing courses is that he wants to give entrepreneurs the opportunity to land high-ticket clients on their own. For Douglas, high ticket clients can mean the difference between struggling or experiencing financial freedom.

In addition to that, Douglas created a marketing business to help launch a successful online presence for his fellow entrepreneurs. He put up a company called Amped Local in 2011 with the primary aim of empowering business owners by creating advanced digital marketing strategies for specific brands.

He immersed himself in the world of Facebook and YouTube Ads, which later on became his speciality. In his courses, he significantly highlights the importance of using those platforms to reach global audiences.

Iā€™m not sure if you knew, but Douglas has used Facebook Ads to help numerous local businesses to succeed, and then ultimately, expanded his scope to online coaching.

Known as ā€œThe High-Ticket Client Guyā€, Douglas has already trained and coached over 2,000 entrepreneurs on how to turbo-charge their earning potential with his time-tested and proven sales and marketing strategies.

He also has a consistent number of followers on all of his social media platforms, including his YouTube channel. If you are interested to know more about his journey from Douglas himself, then I suggest you watch the video below.

What are Douglas James Academy Courses About?

If your business lies in the market for educational content, then there is a big chance that the name Douglas James is somewhere on top of your list.

Based on his websites, the Douglas James Academy offers a wide range of courses for all sorts of entrepreneurs. One of these courses caught your attention, which led you to click on this review, right?

The fundamental courses revolve around online marketing and advertising concepts such as SEO, Clickfunnels, and Facebook Ads. This is due to Douglase’s idea that high-ticket clients are using those platforms; thus, entrepreneurs should also use them to reach out and try to attain them as clients.

Course 1: The High-Ticket Experience

This course is the general go-to since it provides insights on how to engage and dominate deals via phone successfully. It is available through hisĀ website, and it covers a comprehensive system for booking sales calls for high-ticket coaching courses.

Course 2: Local Business Funnels and Ads

The second course focuses on marketing funnels and active campaigns that get leads (includes name, emails, and numbers) as well as how to create custom advertisements.

Course 3: The Expert AcademyĀ

In this last course, Douglas claims that those enrolled in his courses will learn the secret weapon in dominating Facebook ads in their advantage. The Expert Academy course includes 50 plug and play industry funnels, ads, and marketing materials.

Should I Join Douglas James Academy Courses?

So, are his courses worth joining?Ā

If you are new to the industry of digital marketing, then you can learn a thing or two from Douglas James’ courses. In addition, if you join his Expert Academy class, you will be invited to a private Facebook group so that you can have a direct line and support from other learners and Douglas himself.

One thing that you should note though is that the courses seem to be advertised as an all-in-one digital marketing package and as one of the best marketing courses for Facebook. But with all sincerity, I can say that you’ll learn the same things if you watch a couple of YouTube videos.

Iā€™m serious, a couple of them.

Douglas James Courses’ Ugly Truths Revealed!

Revelation 1: The High-Ticket Experience is Low on INFO

This training is available for free on Jamesā€™s website. However, it doesnā€™t offer much relevant information since most of the concepts are outdated and will not show you how you can get started with your online business. Instead, what you will hear is some small sales talk that will further encourage you to sign up for his other two courses.

Revelation 2: The price of the course is…steep!

To get started with the Douglas James’ courses, you need to pay a one time fee of around $3000 if you wish to gain access to all of his modules. To be honest, it is neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but there are other training courses online that will not require you to shell out that much.

Revelation 3: The content of the courses are not that special

I have to be honest with you…

The content is not robust enough to give you relevant information to succeed in the online world. You can substitute it by watching videos on YouTube reiterating the same process and techniques for free. I guess the only bonus here is that Douglas shares his real-life experience in the courses.

After all, one mans experience can be a learning paradigm for others, right?

But is it enough to make me purchase the course? Probably not.

Is Douglas James a Scam?

So, is Douglas James someone that you should trust or is he just another over-promising scammer?Ā

Ā

The truth is – heā€™s far from being a scam artist, but I am not really sure if heā€™s worthy of your time and money. There are many better alternatives for building a sustainable online business, and I will gladly share them with you.Ā

I understand that running successful Facebook ads is not as easy as many people think it is, but Iā€™m also sure that with the proper research and all the free valuable content thatā€™s lying around, you can do it on your own.Ā

Because honestly, Douglas Jamesā€™ courses appear like an over-hyped package and for me, that is a problem because it raises false expectations. Itā€™s true that there are some reviews available on his site and social media, but that is not enough to convince me to buy from him.Ā

Ā

Take note of the word ā€œsome.ā€

For someone who is deemed as a marketing genius, his courses arenā€™t that popular with the modern crowd. YouTube videos are discussing similar content to his courses, and they have a higher number of views than his actual videos.

Also, Iā€™m an active member of some of the most well-known ā€œmake money onlineā€ forums, and I seriously havenā€™t seen many people talk about his courses and how it helped them succeed.Ā

Moreover, his approach to teaching Facebook Ads is just too bland and generic. I mean, Douglas may have succeeded in creating his 7-figure digital marketing business, but there is no promise that it will work for others.Ā

How I Make A Living Online

Now that you’ve found out whether Douglas James is a scam or not, you might be wondering if there are any other legit and investment-worthy platforms available online. The answer is yes, and as promised, I will gladly show them to you.

Similar to you, I was once one of those who spent countless hours looking for genuine income opportunities online, and luckily, I found a better system which allows me to generate enough money to sustain my day-to-day expenses and live life on my terms.

Unlike the courses of Douglas James, this platform shows you the exact formula for succeeding in this online chaos by building a website inside a niche youā€™re passionate about.Ā

The close-knit community of WA enables you to have the much-needed support to jump-start your business even if you have never earned a single dollar online before.

Besides, it does not ask you to pay a massive sum of money outright to join the program. It even allows you to access their robust training materials and tools that can aid you in succeeding with the program. If you wish to find out more about this caring community, thenĀ read this review.

As I end this post, I hope that I was able to shed light on Douglas Jamesā€™s courses, and if you happen to like my review, then I would highly appreciate it if you can share this post on some of your social media accounts. Also, if you have any additional question, donā€™t be afraid to ask them since Iā€™m an easy-going guy and I wouldnā€™t mind giving you a hand.Ā

    1. What a coincidence. A good friend of mine told me the exact same thing the other day.

      You made me laugh.

  1. Good to know!

I started the ā€œProcess Applicationā€ to see if I get accepted for his course, many things during the so-called ā€œcallā€ I got for this so-called ā€œProcessā€ to get accepted and the videos they send me to get ready for the whole course information and the ā€œPRICEā€ got me thinking ALOTā€¦.and my gut keeps telling me ā€œSOMETHING IS WRONG.ā€

Thanks very much for the info. I appreciate it.

  2. NOT ONCEā€¦does HEā€¦or ANYONE ELSE SAYā€¦WHAT the ā€œBIG TICKET ITEMSā€ā€¦ARE!??

I ran across another YT ad that ALMOST got me. But after DAYS of researching, it was SELLING BITCOIN!? And they, like everyone else, wanted money UPFRONT!

    RED FLAG!

I wrote the guy and asked, ā€œIf you front me the money to startā€¦Iā€™ll split my profits with you 60/40 with 60% in your favorā€¦PLUS an ADDITIONAL 50%ā€¦ until the balance is paid!! HE BLOCKED ME!

    LOL

  3. I’ve been on this earth 67 years, and have achieved the level of being an Accomplished Director of Independence, debt-free living in the Philippines 15+ years.

Every 3-5 years some charlatan puts together what are basically recycled PMA motivational courses. In my opinion, Douglas James is only the next charlatan.

His continued rant that he spent 10 years enlisted in the US Navy is the best sign that you do not want to follow him unless you just like opening your wallet to someone that will tell you you can do this.

He’ll pay to be 15% of that, and I’ll tell you pretty much the same but give you the real map to financial independence. This is not a hustle but a real person who is living life.

By the way, you don’t need anything close to $10k to live the best life on earth.

Douglas James never mentions the critical requirement of being financially independent.

And that is because he wants you to continue to pay him and to hustle daily, which only drives you nuts and keeps you in the hustler cycle of life.

Let me share with you the truth – that is not a comfortable life.

    1. Hey, Tony, thanks for sharing your opinion with me.

Honestly, to me, you just sound like another digital marketing guru that tries to lure people into seeing your heavily affiliated account on Facebook. Still, I’ll let it slide for now.

I’ve approved your comment only to tell you that you should stop recruiting unethically and focus on providing your followers with real-life advice and actual value.

That is the only way to succeed, my friend, and you should take note of that.

PS: I do agree with you to some extent. There are far better alternatives than Douglas James, but I am sorry to inform you that you are not the one, my friend.

Anyhow, I wish you all the best!

  4. A Scammer is a Scammer! Douglas James dressed himself as a brilliant over Achiever with the best business strategy ever! FALSE! Thank you for this post i learned so much! I was pulled in to his story starting from scratch, but if it was that easy everyone will do it! The price for his academy is outrages! over $3k???!?!? for what? and plus he has no guarantee set at all for dropping the bank for his course.. And i feel like he is hiding something…. Again kudos to him for building his 7-figuire business, but No one ever talked about him or boast about his course…. and how they making large income from Online Marketing. just saying…

    1. I understand your frustrations, Fritzner, and I agree entirely with you.

Douglas James has undoubtedly portrayed himself as an overachiever, and there are far better alternatives for learning the same stuff that he’s teaching.

And don’t even get me started on the price. I can think of a lot of ways to spend three thousand dollars, and buying Douglas James’s course is not one of them.

Anyhow, thanks for stopping by and sharing your opinion with me. Also, feel free to give my number one recommendation a try. I’m sure you’ll like it.

It comes at a meagre cost, and a community of over a million people backs it up!

  5. Douglas James seems to be a great online entrepreneur, but apparently he’s far from it. I was inspired by him for a while, but you’re right…he does seem a bit pushy and it appears to me as if he has been holding something back from me.

Thanks for revealing that Douglas James is a con-artist in disguise making a 7-figure business for himself and I honestly hope that I can get mentored by you once I sign up for Wealthy Affiliate. Oh, and one more question before I go…

How much time would it take me to succeed with WA?

    1. Thanks for taking the time to drop a comment on my post and please know that we can absolutely be friends once you’re inside. Just hit me up, and I’ll do my best to set you on the right path. As for your question…

It’s very possible to replace your current wage (assuming: $2000-$3000) within a two year period. Many people have done it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you will too. Your success is directly dependent on your work ethic, your ability to work efficiently, and most of all your mindset.

          1. Hey, Ryan.

Sorry for the late reply, my friend. I was busy these days.

Please take a look at my ultimate affiliate marketing guide and see why AM is, has been, and forever will be my number one recommendation for making money online.

Just in case you want to ask me some additional questions, type a comment anywhere on this blog, and I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.

      1. They provide exciting reveals, but everything in wealthy Affiliate can be found as well in line, except their community. But their community is just the more experienced selling to the newbies. And you canā€™t promote your stuff until you reach the upper levels.

If you want to be an affiliate, give deep thought to a company like Priceline.
